Nothing is more important to us than providing valuable opportunities for young people to explore the creative industry and find their way into the creative world. This is exactly what we got to do with Signature Pictures Academy in partnership with The Princes Trust.
Identifying the lack of representation in the film industry, Signature Pictures Academy CIC, set up to provide key and essential training to young people from low socio-economic backgrounds. Working across training, fiction and branded content, they are an award-winning social enterprise film production company. Partnering with Jobcentre Plus, the Prince’s Trust and a range of charities nationally, they have provided training and work experience opportunities to unemployed and at-risk people in every department of our film productions.
We jumped at the chance to give two groups of young people their first taste at working with a client. We tasked them to create new content for the reopening of our Black In Carnaby store and our Words Of Wonder online series. From briefings to shoot days with brilliant guest speakers, working with the groups not only meant getting fresh content supporting the development of diverse creatives and young people.
