Responsibilities:

  • Support the Marketing Director and Senior Marketing Manager in developing the annual UK marketing strategy for our factual channel brands, including defining campaign priority levels based on their ability to drive ratings, deliver audiences, and build the National Geographic brand.
  • Project manage all top priority UK brand and content marketing campaigns from briefing through to implementation, optimisation and post-campaign analysis.
  • Collaborate with our media agency to create insights-driven and audience-first paid media campaigns across the media mix, including TV & BVOD, key digital and social platform partners and media partnerships.
  • Curate engaging creative and media briefs and run regular briefing sessions with creative & production teams and our media agency.
  • Develop relationships with key media owners including Sky, Facebook, YouTube and programmatic digital partners, among others.
  • Lead the relationship with our UK affiliate platform contacts at Sky, NOW, Virgin Media and TalkTalk.
  • Pitch National Geographic and National Geographic Wild content priorities for inclusion in affiliate marketing and merchandising campaigns and identify opportunities to align our content with their priorities.
  • Work with prize agencies to develop co-branded customer reward incentives including competitions, prize packages and money-can’t-buy experiences.
  • Represent National Geographic in monthly affiliate catch-ups and present in quarterly pitch meetings.
  • Work with the insights team to decipher performance and audience insights and trends, ensuring that key learnings are reflected in media briefs and plans and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide full post-campaign analyses and identify go-forward recommendations for future campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the brand & franchise team to support the definition and alignment of strategic marketing plans and broader National Geographic brand initiatives such as Earth Day.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven experience at a Marketing Manager level or ready to promote to this level
  • Strategic marketing experience including media planning across the media mix, and briefing, deploying, optimising and reporting on paid media campaigns
  • An understanding of key digital and social platforms
